Introduction to Segmentation

Customer segmentation is the practice of dividing a customer base into groups of individuals that are similar in specific ways relevant to marketing, such interests and spending habits.

Companies employing customer segmentation operate under the fact that every customer is different and that their marketing efforts would be better served if they target specific, smaller groups with messages that those consumers would find relevant and lead them to buy something.

Synerise AI platform offers multiple solutions for customer segmentation:

  • RFM Segmentation - Customer segmentation based on customer behavior including how recently a customer has purchased (Recency), how often the customer purchases (Frequency), and how much the customer spends (Monetary)
  • RFE Segmentation - Customer segmentation based on customer behavior including how many days passed since last page visit (Recency), how many visits were made (Frequency), and how many page visits were generated (Engagement)
  • AI Segmentation - powerful AI tool which helps to automatically detect clusters based on customer preferences, revenue they generate, the way they interact with company and more than 100 different attributes.
